If you knew anything about the designer or that show you'd know that Walter wanted and selected guys from the gay "Bear" scene, they're not professional models.
I love this aspect, and I also think his work is fantastic, not a failure in sight.

Male models are usually pretty or muscularly gorgeous and as most guys
know its a woman's world. I think these guys have a different look than the
run of the mill guys. Women like looking at eye candy whether in a runway or
as male strippers, its all for show.

It seems all men are equal in the eye of the beholders of whom or
what is deemed as beauty is up to women who enjoy seen men as
objects of fashion/desire.

its democratic fashion, ugly people need clothes too. :) i wouldn't call them ugly though..

I wouldn't call these dudes ugly as much as symmetrically odd? Maybe 'jolie laide'? Guy in the poncho though: average joe, looks like he was selected to walk specifically to show off the script detail on those socks. Both outfit and model fail.
